Wide Leg Everyday Transitional Smocked Linen Pant

First of all, let me say that I'm a huge Emme fan. I'm going through my second pregnancy and stocked up on a bunch of things after getting a second-hand dress from them during my first pregnancy that is in constant rotation. Initially, I loved these pants. I'm 5'3" and the length on me was just right (I was looking for something that would cover the tops of my shoes and these were nice and long). The texture and color were perfect. I wore them a bunch of times before deciding to take the plunge and wash them. I washed on cold and air dried, but unfortunately this was not sufficient to keep them from shrinking significantly (I'd estimate about 2"). They went from luxurious full-length linen trousers to more of a cropped length (and a bit snugger fit). I still like them, and the color and texture weathered the wash alright , but going to the shorter length was a real bummer for me. In fairness, I did forget to wash on gentle cycle, so it's possible that that would have prevented the shrinkage, but after some googling, I also learned that linen can shrink 4-10% during the first wash. I wish that Emme had included a warning about the potential for shrinkage in their (otherwise very helpful) care instructions.

I've had 2 babies in the past few years and am in 1st trimester with number 3. I am really tired of cheap maternity clothes that are too ratty to wear after a few months and don't look cute anyway. I LOVE these pants. Worth every dollar. Please make more colors in this style!!!!! I can't wait to wear these through my whole pregnancy and beyond.
