Our Materials Standards

Every EMME garment starts with a simple rule: 100% natural fiber, nothing else. Our transitional maternity clothing is made from pure linen and cotton — fabric that breathes, softens with every wash, and holds up through pregnancy, postpartum, and years beyond.

Independently tested, not self-certified

Our fabric is independently third-party tested by QIMA to OEKO-TEX Standard 100 limits — the leading global benchmark for textiles tested against harmful substances. We don't grade our own homework.

What we leave out

What's not in the fabric matters as much as what is:

  • No polyester. Not a thread.
  • No recycled polyester. Recycled plastic is still plastic.
  • No azo dyes.
  • No formaldehyde wrinkle-resist finishes. Our fabric wrinkles a little because nothing was added to stop it — that's the fiber, not a flaw.
  • No PFAS water repellents.

Just fiber, the way it should sit against your skin.

Why it matters for maternity

What you wear for nine months sits against your skin all day, every day — through heat, stretch, and countless washes. Natural fiber stays breathable where synthetics trap heat, and it gets softer with age instead of pilling and breaking down.
